SUNDAY 23 AUGUST 2015

Journey: Triple L Estate – Island Hideaway, Solomons Island – Triple L Estate – The Beach – Triple L Estate

3452 j gThe neighbors invited us to join them for breakfast. We accepted. The kids, G and J, asked if they could ride with us. I said yes, if it was ok with their parents – but the parents were also welcome to join us. RC and V planned on stopping for fuel so they wanted to take their boat. To my surprise they agreed to allow the kids to come with us. The kids and I sat on the upper helm. Since there was a slight chill in the air I made sure we all wore a jacket in order to stay warm.

3470 hood floatillaAs we cruised out of Cuckold Creek we had our boat, RC and V in ‘Gabby Jake’, and Rick and Stef in ‘Bay Dawg’. We looked like a small flotilla from the hood. We met additional friends of theirs at Island Hideaway. We sat inside in order to avoid sitting in direct sunlight. Some people from the group (RC) felt too hung-over to deal with the sun.

3516 bay dawgMy breakfast was just ok. After breakfast the kids again asked to ride with us. We agreed, as did their parents. We cruised home, again from the upper helm, while ‘Gabby Jake’ stopped for fuel.

Later in the afternoon we decided to ride over to visit the Beach. Another place we haven’t been in a long time. We had a lovely time chatting. To our surprise, C brought out food for diner encouraging us to help ourselves. Lori’s not one to pass up good food and she dove in to have her fill.

3535 bargeJust before dusk we decided it was time to go home.
