Journey: Triple L Estate – Hidden Harbour, Solomons – Solomons Island playground – Triple L Estate
Once underway, with the wind, we felt comfortably cool.
As we rode along, O and L sat in the bow area. O started being a bit of a daredevil – standing up all by herself without holding on to any railing or L. Fortunately, we had mostly flat water and therefore she didn’t get bounced around or fall down. She then started walking around the boat, as best she could. O felt quite comfortable on the boat … a little too comfortable for our comfort.
Along the way we also had our first diaper change on the boat. It just all seems normal to O to be on a bouncing boat having her diaper changed. Now that is relaxed.
As we approached Hidden Harbour, Lori prepared the fenders and lines. Nearing the pier, L sat O down on the bow seat and told her, “Do NOT move.” To our delight, O sat there as we easily glided into a slip … nice, soft, slow.
We had a lovely dinner and decided to go to the Solomons Island playground. We planned on docking along the wall at the empty lot between Kingfishers and the oyster museum. S/V ‘Dee of St. Mary’s’ sat docked along the oyster museum wall. Because of that, I had to CAREFULLY navigate to avoid the Dee of St. Mary’s bowspit as I made our way to the wall.
An added advantage of going to the park is also enjoying an ice-cream cone for dessert.
We headed for home MUCH later than we originally expected. Since the sun had set, we all wore our live vests for our journey home.
