Journey: LLL – Calvert Marina, Solomons – Island HideAway, Solomons Island – LLL
On our way to Solomons Island we encountered much windier and choppier water than we expected. As we cruised along I noticed the motor trim gauges not syncing properly. After testing the motors, we confirmed that the engines trimmed in sync and only the gauges were not quite right. I can live with that for now.
We first went to Calvert Marina for fuel.
The gauge red that we had used 39.4 gallons. I filled it with 43.7 gallons at 252.9/252.0 hours. Cost – $2.99/ gallon for a total of $231.18.
After fueling we headed over to Island HideAway for an early dinner. We had the bonus of seeing Dana, briefly. She’s Island HideAway’s USA Food representative.
Lori and I sat at the bar and talked with Alex. Always a pleasure. Lori ordered one of their specials – orange crusted pork chops. I had my usual – ravioli with alfredo sauce.
While we sat there, they were experimenting with possible future specials … one of them being some sort of special salmon dish. Alex cut off a portion for Lori to also try. She enjoyed everything they served her.
Fortunately, we had a much calmer ride home.
