Journey: Triple L Estate – Island HideAway, Solomons Island – Triple L Estate
Conditions: sunny, cool – but what do you expect for January
Prior to my arrival home – L had gone down to warm up the motors.
We headed over to Solomons to meet the Boyz at Island HideAway.
It was windier than expected. As we were heading towards the island we saw a large jet circling around doing “touch and go” landing/ take-offs at the base. As we docked it passed so close overhead, and so loud, I had to ask if it was landing on us.
As we approached our usual docking spot, the wind blew us off before we could lasso a piling. We aborted our first attempt, circled around and tried again. We did much better on our second approach. It helps when you factor in the effects of wind.
We had a lovely time, as usual, at Island HideAway.
We headed home, carefully, in the dark. Entering into our cove, we smelled lots of fires ablaze – warming peoples’ homes. Aaahhh, the smells of winter.
