Journey: Triple L Estate – Calvert Marine Museum, Solomons – Island Hideaway, Solomons Island – Triple L Estate
Calvert Marine Museum has been advertising hosting a monthly Pub Night with local performer. Tonight kicked off the summer series. I expected to be sitting outside in the concert area, having drinks, socializing, and enjoying the performance. We planned on meeting Edie, Tom, Travis and Lorraine. En route to the museum I was disappointed not to see Sultana or Gazela.
We arrived, by boat, to a slightly new floating dock configuration. We pulled in, forward, to the floating dock on our starboard side, with the Tennyson’s pier to our port.
We arrived to a very quiet museum atmosphere. So quiet that we wondered if the museum had closed. As I lingered outside, taking photos, Lori went inside to assess the situation. She came out to report: the Pub Night was inside, in a room where everyone sat around 1 of 4 large tables, with the entertainment focusing on “Sea Shanties”. According to her she didn’t see anyone younger than 70 years old. I told her to call Edie. Lori said that no matter what they decided to do, she wasn’t staying. After talking with Edie, we all decided to meet at Island Hideaway.
We had a lovely evening chatting. Edie and Tom’s 22nd anniversary is this weekend. Edie commented that she has now been married to Tom for half of her life.
We departed at dusk and realized our red navigation port light AGAIN wasn’t working. DAMMIT! Glad we left before complete darkness. I made sure to keep the few boats we encountered on our starboard, lighted, side.
