Journey: Triple L Estate – Stoney’s, Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
Tonight was the last night of fall cornhole league. As we prepared to leave I noticed we had a very high tide, the water almost crested over the pier. Since it was the last night of league, all of the money collected throughout the fall for the money bags had to be paid out. When they paused the final games to call names, it seemed to take forever to get it all paid out. Lori had two opportunities to win money. During her first round of attempts she had two bags right on the edge of the hole but would not fall. Damn!
A highlight of the evening – A is so used to our weekly photo for Aunt Missy that when I called out his name he immediately came over and sat on my lap. So sweet.
At one point during the evening it felt like it was nearly midnight. I looked at a clock and it read – 7:30 pm. Wow. I hate when the sun sets so early in the evening.
At the end of the evening Debbie needed change for $100. I only had $80 so I asked Lori for $20. With a great deal of grumbling and moaning she handed over the cash at which point I promptly handed her the hundred dollar bill. Boooo-yaaaa. Take that. With an exchange like that maybe she will complain less in the future…. Probably not.
Time: 4:25 pm – 10:30 pm
Conditions: warm, spring like day turning quite cool once the sun went down, excellent looking sky
