Journey: Triple L Estate – Stoney’s, Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
We finally made it to a random draw cornhole being held prior to the start of fall league. Steve came up to me and BEGGED me to please play – they needed one more person in order to have an even number of players. I agreed. Just as we prepared to play, Harold and Betty showed up with their son, David, and his wife, Virginia. If I hadn’t agreed to play I could have spent more time talking with them.
It ended up that Doris and I drew each other as partners. As soon as Lori heard this, she turned to Doris and said, “I’m sorry, it looks like you won’t be winning any money.” Lori then drew Lorraine as her partner, saying, “Well, it looks like neither of us will be winning any money.” By the end of the evening she had to eat her words.
The winners bracket consisted of all women-only teams, including me and Doris as well as Lori and Lorraine. Although we didn’t win overall, we came in second place and we did win money. HA! Take that miss negative Lori.
