Journey: Triple L Estate – Stoney’s, Broomes Island – Triple L Estate

2828 two ospreysTonight was the Hospice fund-raiser Luau. Based on our experience last year, we planned on spending the night at Broomes. When we tied up we also plugged in to start the air conditioning. Half way through the evening, Lori told me the air wasn’t working and therefore we needed to go home at the end of the evening. I’m glad I had advance notice so that I knew I had to behave myself.

This year’s luau was a bit different from last year… not quite as much fun. From what I understand, the hospice organization did everything and only used Stoney’s for their venue. Unfortunately, many of the higher paying sponsors did NOT get an assigned table, as a sponsor should. This included Double D. So, instead of sitting at tables we all hung out at a few tables at the Boat bar.

We did have fun, just not as much as last year. I got so many tremendous compliments on my outfit. Although not a flowery luau design the more Asian/ Polynesian design worked well also. The Boyz did come this year and brought along Larry. So nice to see him.

2857 sunsetFor the past few weeks we’ve been without a port light, waiting for a replacement to be shipped from France and make its way through customs. As we prepared to depart we noticed our starboard light also went out. SHIT! As we left port, Lori sat up front holding the temporary clamp on navigation light. This, too, did not want to fully function. Much to our dismay, we headed down river with only a working running light. Needless to say, we were NOT amused. Fortunately, due to the late hour, and it being a week night, we didn’t see anyone else on the river.
