Journey: Triple L Estate – Len’s Marina, Broomes Island – the Boyz’ house, Hollywood – Stoney’s Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
This morning we tried to give the boat a long overdue good cleaning. Although we did not get it clean we did get it less dirty.
In the early afternoon we took off for Len’s Marina for fuel. Mrs. Len’s Marina assisted us. Although we’ve been to Len’s a few times on the new boat it is the first time she saw it and was quite impressed.
After fueling we headed across the river to the Boyz’ house. Their friends, Colon and Julie as well as their daughter, were visiting also by boat. They had originally parked on the outside of the pier. Fortunately we had called before arriving so that they could move their boat to the inside portion of the pier allowing us to park on the outside portion with deeper water.
Adam was also there, by land. He had come to help fix the air conditioning.
We sat chitchatting and enjoyed a morning mud slide. At around 3 o’clock we headed over to Broomes Island. Julie and her daughter went on their boat, with the daughter at the helm. We headed out on our boat and the boyz, which included Colon, followed in their boat. Colon said we looked like a flotilla.
Arriving at Stoney’s we noticed the inside wall was occupied. I considered taking Barry’s favorite slip but instead we decided to be nice and park on the other side. This positioned us so that we could disembark starboard onto the long portion of the pier.
Broomes hosted a surprise celebration of Marlene’s retirement. They had a band under the tent for her party. Many of us spend most of our time up at the upper bar. We had a lovely time talking to a lot of people. We even got to see Harold and Betty which was a nice treat.
