Journey: Triple L Estate – Tommy & Julie’s Island Time, Island Creek, Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
Today we celebrated Julie and Jeannie’s birthdays. Because we all planned on meeting at Island Time at Broomes Island, Lori and I took the boat to Island Time. We were “promised” to return to the island by 5 pm. That’s a nice time to return. As I first walked to our pier, in the early morning hours, I turned on the dock lights — even with the assurance of a 5 pm island return.
We had a nice ride up the river, but was so glad for the pilot house to stay warm. We remembered to bring the defogger to test its performance. It seemed to do what we wanted it to do. I wish we had remembered to bring that last night.
Once at Island Time we had a fairly easy time of tying up. Shortly thereafter we departed in a limo bound for DC. We had brunch at Pearl Dive Oyster something or other, followed by, surprise to us, a trip to Louise Vuitton. Even if we had left directly after Louise V we still would not have returned to the Island anywhere near 5 pm. After Louise V and some other sunglasses store nearby I thought – yeah, we’re going home…. But noooo, we then went to some restaurant bar. I could have done without that stop.
As it got later and later I was soooo thankful I had turned our dock lights on. (Although we could have had neighbors turn them on for us.) We did have to call Kathy to ask her to go feed Sophie.
Once we finally returned to Island Time Lori and I quickly changed back into our boating clothes, I walked a very inebriated Jeannie out to Katy’s jeep, and then Lori and I departed. I hadn’t planned on coming home in the dark, and went very slow. We noticed that it looked like the green flashing lights for markers “9” and “11”, which marks the inlet for Clarkes Landing and Cuckold Creek, were not flashing.
