Journey: Triple L Estate – Broomes Island – Triple L Estate

Time: ~ 3:10 pm – 6:30 pm
Conditions: sunny, nice if in the sun but chilly if in the shade
Vessel: 23’ Seaway fishing boat

work bargeWe met the boyz at Broomes. We saw them limping across the river in their Trophy. We called them to see if they needed help but they said they’d make it – eventually.

While having our late lunch we tried to piece together all the events of yesterday’s Boat Docking Contest. Eric doesn’t mangled pierremember anything from the day. As soon as he saw the mangled pier he asked, “When did that happen?” Some of the few things we reminded him of: Rick won over $700 in the 50/50 drawing and that he had ended up with Eric Fad’s credit card. He quickly searched his wallet and began laughing when he found Fad’s credit card. I know Eric said he planned on using it yesterday, but I don’t know if he actually credit cardtried.

As we prepared to leave, Lori went over to the boyz’ boat to check out their engine. I went to our boat, got Sophie on board, and cast off to pick Lori up at the other pier. Just as I cast off I heard someone yell my name. I looked – Eric and Alvin had just arrived. We decided to stay for another drink and talk with them, which meant tieing up again and getting Sophie back off the boat.

One we finally left we offered to follow the boyz home. They said they’d be fine and would call if they needed us. Going home we hugged the St. Mary’s county shoreline as it was INCREDIBLY rough going home. At one point I hugged a little too close as we nudged the bottom just before we entered Clarkes Landing channel.
