Journey: Triple L Estate – Solomons Yachting Center – the Beach – Triple L Estate – Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
Engine Hrs: end at 91.1 hours; end of day – unknown Vessel: 23’ Seaway
Time: 10 am – 12:20 pm (morning ride – Solomons – the Beach)
Fuel: $3.99/ gallon; 24.4 gallons at 90.5 hrs
After yesterday I didn’t expect anyone up anytime soon. With nothing much to do I decided to go to Solomons in order to fill on fuel. As I left the island I had the pleasure of seeing one of the pilot boats coming in from the Bay. I’ve never seen them underway before. They strike a nice pose.
Afterwards I swung by the Beach in order to meet C’s brother. He, and a group of friends, had come for this weekend’s Rolling Thunder. I had a lot of fun hanging out with them and joking around with them. At one point one fellow asked, “So, how long have you been driving boats?” My answer, “Since I was about 4.” That didn’t help him get to what he really wanted to know, but smart ass me wasn’t going to help him figure out my age.
After hanging with them for a while I figured I would go home and see how Lori felt. To my surprise, Lori felt fine. We received an invitation to meet the boyz at Broomes. I knew I would go, but I was shocked that Lori was also willing to go. There were MANY people at Broomes surprised and impressed to see Lori arrive.
We had a great time talking with people. A band played down at the boat bar, although I spent most of my time at the upper bar. Someone passed by and told me Lori was down doing karaoke. I went down to check on her. The band had gone on break between sets and had set Lori up with a microphone and Tina Turner. I arrived to see Private Dancer begin to play. On stage with her stood Trey. I looked around at all the people watching and thought, ‘Hum, there are enough people here to take care of Lori if she needed it… I can return to the bar.’
It seems as though everyone had a good time.
