waterworld trimaranThere was a clear threat of rain coming our way. I told Lori if we planned on going by boat we had better hurry and leave so we can get to the island before the storms hit.

We had decided to try to the Lighthouse Restaurant, the new Clarkes Landing, which recently opened. As we entered the Solomons area we noticed a trimaran rain cloudsanchored that looked like it had come out of the movie ‘Waterworld’, complete with laundry hanging out to dry. At the Lighthouse, we sat at the outside bar, but still under the overhang as we were sure it would rain… which it did.

Our overall opinion of the Lighthouse – sitting outside is nice. We had a look inside and it looked cheap, like an institutional lori markcafeteria. For the most part the menu stayed the same only a lot more expensive. I will admit, however, I saw a few new items on the menu that looked promising. All in all, however, I don’t foresee hanging out here. If I’m going to go out on the island I’d more likely go to Kingfishers.
