Journey: Triple L Estate – Stoney’s, Broomes Island – Triple L Estate
We don’t usually want to go to Broomes so early in the afternoon, as most of the people we like to talk with don’t arrive until later. However, we received a message from the Boyz that they would be at Broomes around 4:00. I responded we would be there around 4:30 or 5:00. When we arrived, they weren’t there. Drat, I knew we should have waited.
Even with it being early, the bar seemed quite busy. Shortly after our arrival, the Boyz did show up. They said they had waited because of our expected time of arrival.
We had dinner and enjoyed talking with friends. Lori signed us up for a Corn Hole Tournament being organized by Ted. I have NEVER played that game before, but ok. It will take away from going to the regatta as the games will be played on Wednesday night. Oh well.
We went home at dusk, or just slightly after dusk. As we rounded Clarkes Landing red marker we barely missed hitting some guy out on a paddleboard. Thank goodness we had slowed down because of a boat in front of us, otherwise, we might have hit him. Donned in a black outfit he almost disappeared in the night hour light. I noticed as we passed, not only was he NOT wearing a life vest, he didn’t even have a life vest with him. As we passed we yelled at him for being stupid and he needed to get off the water.
