Vessel: Chaparral 260 SSi Bowrider
Conditions: sunny, light breeze, pleasant
The boys called and asked if we wanted to meet them for brunch at Kingfishers. I didn’t know Kingfishers had a brunch. As we left Cuckold Creek we noticed a SeaRay heading down river and guessed it must be the boys. Once we finally reached Solomons Island we caught up with them and we followed each other into Solomons area to Kingfishers.
As we passed between Molly’s Leg and the Tiki Bar we noticed yet another derelict looking sailboat anchored. The yellow sailboat we’ve seen before was also anchored nearby. We wondered if they knew each other. I would have a hard time deciding which vessel would be more sea worthy… especially since I wouldn’t feel safe on either vessel.
We had a lovely brunch. Having a gin and tonic helped take the edge off from our storm watching fun we had last night.
After brunch, we decided to stop at Solomons Yachting Center to top up on fuel. On our way home we noticed a boat that looked like “Liquid Courage” so Lori asked to head over in that direction. It was, indeed, Liquid Courage, but it wasn’t Jason in the boat. He must have loaned it to someone. We noticed the reason they were going so slow is that they must have blown the starboard engine and were limping back to the ramp at Solomons bridge.
We had thought we would meet up with the boys later in the afternoon at Broomes, but once home we did not have the energy to get up and go yet again. So, instead, we stayed home to have a very relaxing afternoon.
