► Explorations along the Water: July 13, 2012

Commuting along Cuckold CreekFriday 13 July 2012

Journey I: Triple L Estate – (J’s Creek) – Hungerford Creek – Triple L Estate

Time: 10:15 am – 11:30 am

Vessel: 18’ Simmons Sea Skiff replicaConditions: partly cloudy, light breeze

We went out for a morning ride since she hasn’t been out on the water for a while. We first went into the back creek where J Scarab lives. Again, we didn’t see any power boats at his dock. I wonder if he still has his go-fast.

Afterwards, we shot across the Patuxent River to explore yet another little creek, Hungerford Creek. Again, a small, narrow opening to a body of water that is a great deal larger than appears.

It’s interesting to see what is tucked in these back water areas.

I wanted to go fill the boat with fuel in preparation of our long weekend on the eastern shore. We first went to Kingfishers for lunch and then fueled at Solomons Yachting Center before returning home.
